About

“De donde eres?”   This is one of the most asked questions, Jay gets.

And the surprised look, when they hear the answer,  is always a delight. Jay Stylz is a “West-Texian”, born and raised in Midland, TX.

He transferred his love for Martial Arts into his passion for the dance when he moved to Dallas and stepped into a Salsaclub in 2002.

In 2003 he auditioned for Salsa Passion Dance Company, under the directory of Joel Dominguez and Jessica Cepeda and was part of the team for 2 ½ years. During this time, he performed in numerous cities throughout the US.
Jay’s dance- and teaching style is a blend of Body-Isolation, Afro-Cuban and the perfect touch of Sex appeal.

My name is Jennifer Marcano, by now also known as “German Chocolate”. Born and raised in Germany, I moved to the United States in 2002.

I met Jay at a video shoot for Havana NRG in 2004 and we became friends. In 2006, after I had moved to Dallas, he started training me, and ever since, we are teaching classes in Dallas and across the country.

Getting inspiration by taking workshops and classes from various instructors, such as Eddie Torres, Franklin Diaz, Frankie Martinez, Sekou Miller, Joel and Ana Masacote, Magna Gopal, Joel Dominguez…., just to name a few…, we found our style in “New York On2”.

In 2009, we switched all our classes from “On1” to “On2- New York Style”.

In Feb 2010, Jay expanded his repertoire to be the Master of Ceremony (MC) at the First Bachata Festival in Dallas.
